DFC- Day 8

The leaves and the seasons changed,
All that is lost will be found.
The earth continues to turn,
Even as nothing stays the same.

The leaves and the seasons changed,
And so did she.
As she lost old toys and rearranged,
She also lost her will to be.

But all that is lost will be found,
And continue on living, she would.
She knew she couldn't stay long on the ground.
So she stood.

The earth continues to turn,
Setting her off-balance as she stands on wobbly feet.
Her heart continues to burn,
Each breath serving as proof against defeat.

Even as nothing stays the same,
The person she knows herself to be stays intact.
Though at times she may be drowning in her shame,
There is a spark inside her that still reacts.

She stands, clutching close to her what she had lost.
Triumphant, she smiles though her chapped lips sting with the effort.
And she leaves the ground far behind,
Changing with the seasons.
